About Placitas Animal Rescue

Placitas Animal Rescue is a 501c3 Not-for-Profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals.  We come to the aid of animals in Placitas and throughout Sandoval County, New Mexico.  Unlike other organizations in the area, PAR concentrates on rescuing stray and feral animals, rather than adopting out animals cherry-picked from local shelters. 

 

PAR was founded in 1988 by Gary Miles and has rescued and found homes for hundreds of stray and feral animals over the years, as well as reuniting lost animals with their human companions.  PAR continues today as a family-oriented operation, with the assistance of Gary's wife Hattie.
